Morning: Art and Culture at NGMA

The National Gallery of Modern Art on Palace Road has a fresh exhibition opening this morning. Titled 'Urban Reflections', it showcases works by contemporary Karnataka-based artists exploring the city's rapid transformation.

The gallery opens at 10 AM. Entry is Rs 20 for adults and free for students with valid ID. The exhibition runs through the weekend.

Afternoon: Heritage Walk Through Old Bengaluru

For those looking to step back in time, the Bangalore Heritage Foundation is conducting a guided walk through the Malleswaram neighbourhood. The walk covers century-old temples, traditional eateries and the iconic Malleswaram Market.

Participants are asked to assemble at 3 PM near the Malleswaram Circle. The walk is free but requires prior registration online. Slots are limited to 25 people.

Evening: Jazz Night at The Piano Man

The Piano Man in Indiranagar has a live jazz performance scheduled for 8 PM. The band, known for blending Indian classical elements with jazz, has been performing in the city for over a decade.

Cover charge is Rs 500 per person. Reservations are recommended as the venue often fills up early. A separate menu featuring small plates and cocktails will be available.

Late Night: Open Mic at a Local Café

For those who prefer a more relaxed evening, the third edition of 'Speak Easy' open mic night is happening at Café Kumbakonam in Koramangala. Doors open at 9 PM. Poets, storytellers and musicians can sign up on the spot.

Entry is free. The café will serve filter coffee and snacks through the night. Organisers expect around 30 participants this time.

What to watch: With multiple events spread across the city, residents should plan their travel accordingly. The Namma Metro is expected to run on a normal schedule, but traffic around Indiranagar and Koramangala may be heavier than usual.
