Chandrayangutta has emerged as the frontrunner in Hyderabad's drive to digitise Self-Inspection Report (SIR) enumeration forms. The zone has recorded the highest percentage of digital filings among all constituencies in the city, setting a benchmark for other areas to follow.
Officials at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) confirmed that the digitisation push is part of a broader effort to streamline property tax collections and land record management. The move aims to reduce paperwork and improve transparency in property assessments.
At the other end of the spectrum, Musheerabad has posted the lowest digitisation rate so far. The zone's slow adoption of the digital format has raised concerns among civic officials, who are now stepping up awareness campaigns and field visits to accelerate the process.
Residents and property owners in Musheerabad have cited lack of awareness and technical difficulties as reasons for the delay. GHMC teams are conducting door-to-door drives to explain the process and assist with online submissions.
The SIR enumeration form is a critical document used by the municipal corporation to assess property tax liabilities. Digitising these forms allows for faster processing, easier retrieval, and better data accuracy. The GHMC has set a target to achieve 100% digital filing across all zones by the end of the financial year.
Zonal commissioners have been asked to review progress weekly and identify bottlenecks. In areas like Chandrayangutta, community participation and proactive support from local representatives have been key to the high compliance rate.
While the exact percentage figures for each constituency are not yet public, internal GHMC reports show a wide gap between the top and bottom performers. Chandrayangutta has consistently maintained a digitisation rate above 85%, whereas Musheerabad struggles at under 40%.
Other constituencies like Secunderabad and Begumpet fall in the middle range, with digitisation rates hovering between 60% and 70%. Officials are optimistic that the gap will narrow as outreach efforts intensify in the lagging zones.
Residents can complete the SIR digitisation process online through the GHMC portal or with assistance at local citizen service centres. The corporation has also set up helplines to address technical queries.
The push for digital SIR forms is expected to be completed by March next year. For now, all eyes are on Musheerabad to see if it can catch up with the city-wide target.
