Apple's next flagship, the iPhone 18 Pro, may arrive in a striking new colour. Leaks now point to a Dark Cherry finish joining the usual options like Silver, Space Black, and Gold.
The rumoured shade is described as a deep, rich red that shifts between burgundy and almost black depending on the light. It would be the first time Apple offers such a dark red tone on a Pro model.
The information comes from supply chain sources and tipsters who have accurately predicted Apple colours before. They suggest the Dark Cherry option will be exclusive to the Pro and Pro Max variants, not the standard iPhone 18.
Apple typically refreshes its colour palette every two to three years. The last major new colour for the Pro line was the Deep Purple introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022.
Industry trackers point to a mid-September 2026 launch event. Apple has held its iPhone launch in the first half of September for 14 of the last 15 years. The only exception was 2020 due to pandemic delays.
Pre-orders usually open the following Friday, with the first batch shipping a week later. India is expected to be part of the first wave of markets this time, as Apple continues to expand its retail presence.
Beyond the colour, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is said to feature a variable aperture camera system. That would let the lens physically open wider in low light and stop down in bright conditions for sharper images.
The standard Pro model may get a larger battery and a more efficient A19 Pro chip built on a next-generation fabrication process. No official specifications have been confirmed by Apple yet.
Pricing remains speculative. The iPhone 17 Pro launched at Rs 1,19,900 in India. Given the rupee's fluctuation and component costs, the iPhone 18 Pro could see a slight increase, possibly starting around Rs 1,24,900.
The Pro Max variant may begin at Rs 1,39,900. Exchange rates and import duties will likely influence the final sticker price. Apple has not commented on any of these leaks.
The coming weeks will clarify whether Dark Cherry is indeed the colour of the season. Apple typically sends out media invites in late August. That is when the world gets its first official look at what is coming.
