Public health campaigns should also specifically target diabetic populations with messages about dengue prevention and early warning signs. This includes educating patients about symptoms like severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, and bleeding gums.
Researchers are now calling for larger multicentric studies to confirm these findings across different regions. They also want health ministries to include diabetes status as a critical parameter in dengue surveillance systems.
