Sai Pallavi turned heads at the 'Ramayana' Pratham Sankalp event in Delhi, dressed in a traditional Kanjivaram saree and temple jewellery. The actress, who plays Sita in the upcoming film, looked every bit the part as she walked the red carpet.
The saree, a rich silk weave, was paired with intricate gold jewellery, including a maang tikka and layered necklaces. Social media has been abuzz with photos of her look, with many calling it 'divine'.
The event, meant to celebrate the film, took an unexpected turn when the 'Ramayana' Part 1 trailer was leaked online shortly after the screening. Sources from the production team confirmed that the makers have launched an anti-piracy crackdown.
According to a report in The Times of India, the leak happened during the Pratham Sankalp event, and the team has identified the source. Legal notices have been sent to multiple platforms to remove the unauthorised footage. The film is set for release on July 24.
At the same event, actor Yash, who plays Ravana in the film, made a surprise appearance. He addressed the audience, calling 'Ramayana' 'India's dream' and a project that will showcase Indian culture on a global scale.
Yash was joined by Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi. The three leads posed together, generating massive excitement among fans.
Sai Pallavi has been vocal about her preparation for the role. In an earlier interview, she said, 'Sita Maa, you act through me.' She added that the role required deep spiritual preparation, and she spent months studying the epic and its interpretations.
The actress has been praised for her dedication, with many noting that her performance in the leaked trailer clips shows a quiet strength. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is one of the most anticipated Indian releases of the year.
The 'Ramayana' team is expected to issue an official statement on the trailer leak soon. Meanwhile, pre-release bookings for the July 24 release are expected to open later this week.
