Delhi University (DU) had issued a similar appeal earlier this week, asking students to maintain calm and not get drawn into protests. The university’s statement said “vested interests” were fuelling student anxiety over the NEET-UG results and the alleged irregularities in the exam process.

Teachers’ associations and student groups hit back at DU’s appeal, calling it an attempt to silence legitimate dissent. They argued that students have every right to protest peacefully when they suspect irregularities in a high-stakes examination like NEET-UG. Several groups accused the university of siding with the authorities rather than addressing student concerns.

AIU’s directive seen as an escalation
