Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 could finally address one of the most persistent criticisms of foldable phones. According to a recent report, the device may feature a 5000mAh battery — a notable jump from the 4400mAh cell found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

For users who have long complained about the battery life of foldable devices, this could be a significant improvement. A larger battery would mean longer usage between charges, potentially making the Z Fold 8 more practical for heavy users.

Why the Upgrade Matters

Foldable phones have always faced a trade-off between their innovative form factor and battery capacity. The internal space constraints of a folding design have historically limited how large a battery manufacturers can fit inside the device.
