Vivo is gearing up to bring back its S-series in India. The Vivo S2 is now tipped to launch on August 6, 2026. An official teaser has gone live, confirming the company's plans for the Indian market.
Leaks and reports have already started painting a clear picture of what the device will offer. From the chipset to the camera layout, most details are now in the open.
Dummy units of the Vivo S2 have surfaced online, revealing a complete design. The phone is expected to feature a glass back with a triple-camera module placed in the top-left corner. The cameras are arranged in a vertical pill-shaped island, similar to recent Vivo flagships.
The front is likely to house a flat display with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Bezels appear slim, and the device is expected to be available in at least two gradient colour options.
Under the hood, the Vivo S2 is tipped to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This would place it in the upper mid-range segment, competing with devices from OnePlus and Xiaomi. The phone is expected to come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
A 5,000mAh battery is likely, with support for 80W fast charging. The device will boot Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15 on top. Vivo has not confirmed the battery specs yet, but leaks have been consistent.
The triple-camera setup is expected to include a 50MP primary sensor. The secondary sensors could be an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro or depth unit. The selfie camera is tipped to be a 32MP shooter.
Vivo has historically focused on camera performance in its S-series. The S2 is likely to carry forward that legacy with AI-enhanced imaging and portrait modes.
Pricing details have not been officially announced. Based on leaks, the Vivo S2 is expected to be priced around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 in India. The first sale is likely to begin on August 8 or August 9, shortly after the launch event.
Flipkart and Vivo's own e-store are expected to be the primary sales channels. The company may also offer launch discounts and exchange bonuses.
Vivo has not yet confirmed the full spec sheet. More details are expected to emerge as the launch date approaches. All eyes are now on August 6.
