What is Flex Titanium?

Flex Titanium is a proprietary alloy that Samsung developed specifically for the Z Fold8's display assembly. It is lighter than traditional stainless steel but offers comparable rigidity. The material also resists scratches and dents better than earlier generations of foldable phone frames.

Availability in India

Reliance Digital has confirmed it will stock the Galaxy Z Fold8 series and Z Flip8 across its stores in India. The retail chain made the announcement earlier this week, suggesting a launch is imminent. Pricing details have not been officially disclosed, but the Z Fold8 is expected to be priced in line with its predecessor, around the ₹1.5 lakh mark.

Samsung's global launch event is expected within the next few weeks. The company is positioning the Fold8 as a device that combines the productivity of a tablet with the portability of a phone. Battery capacity leaks for the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra have also surfaced, but those models are likely to launch later in the year.

With the Z Fold8, Samsung is betting that a thinner, lighter foldable will finally convince mainstream users to switch. The next few months will show whether the market agrees.
