Dubbed the Digital Payment Intelligence Platform, the system is designed to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions in real time, marking a significant step in the central bank's efforts to secure India's fast-growing digital payments ecosystem.
While the RBI has not yet disclosed the full technical details or a rollout timeline, the announcement signals a clear intent to leverage cutting-edge technology to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated fraudsters. India's digital payment volumes have surged over the past few years, driven by UPI, mobile wallets, and card-based transactions.
